I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office), which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it.

What data do I keep and why do I need it?

  • Name and age – this is basic information that helps me get to know you.

  • Address, email address and phone number – I use this as a way of contacting you regarding your sessions.

  • GP Details – if I was worried that you were at risk, then I may need to contact your GP. If I can, I will tell you I am going to do this.

  • Session notes – I keep very brief, anonymous notes of our session.

  • I store your data on a password protected document within a password protected computer. My mobile phone is password protected.

Will I share your data and if I do, who will I share it with and for what purpose?

It is very unlikely that I will share your data. I will not sell it on or use it for unethical reasons. If I believe you, or someone else is at harm, I may have to share your details with other professionals such as your GP or emergency services. I will always try to discuss this with you first.

How long will I store your data for and how will I dispose of it?

  • I will keep your session notes, your name and your unique code for 7 years, in line with my insurance terms and conditions. After 7 years, your notes and information will be shredded (if paper form) or deleted (if electronic).
